Date Posted:2024-08-03 01:08:12Copy HTML It seems that, in the last years, there has been an important decrease of "HIV positive" diagnostics in MSM (men who have sex with men) and in developed countries. Does that mean all HIV dissidents, specially the Perth Group, were wrong? Unfortunately, I've been unable to find a debate about this issue, or any dissident reasoning that deserved my attention neither. |

Re:Are the dissident theories related to alleged HIV close to the end? Date Posted:2024-08-08 12:29:54Copy HTML Here we can find data for MSM in the UK: https://www.nat.org.uk/about-hiv/hiv-statistics#gbura9ikxk and it is said: The number of new cases in the UK in 2022 is a 63.8% decrease since 2014 and reflects the success of increased HIV testing and increased uptake of HIV treatment. The introduction of HIV prevention drug PrEP is also likely to have had an impact. Regarding PrEP implantation we can read: https://www.nat.org.uk/about-hiv/hiv-statistics#gbdwbbruoh In 2022, 86,324 people initiated or continued PrEP in England, making up 85.4% of those with an identified PrEP need. This is a 40.3% increase from the number initiating or continuing PrEP in 2021. The majority of people initiating or continuing PrEP in England in 2022 were white gay, bisexual or other men who have sex with men, with 74.6% of those with PrEP need in this groups initiating or continuing PrEP in this year. |

Date Posted:2024-08-08 02:26:03Copy HTML Data for the US can be found here: https://www.hiv.gov/blog/cdc-publishes-new-hiv-surveillance-reports It is said that: The estimated number of new HIV infections in 2022 (31,800) decreased 12% compared with 2018 (36,200), driven by a 30% decrease among young people aged 13-24 years. Increases in preexposure prophylaxis prescriptions, viral suppression and HIV testing likely contributed to the decline. ... New HIV infections among gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) were about 16% lower among Black men in 2022 (7,400) compared with 2018 (8,800) and 20% lower among White men in 2022 (4,400) compared with 2018 (5,500).
